Winter never disappoints us when racing in February in Highlands Ranch! You won't feel chilly after a course so hilly! After conquering the 5k or 10k distance, warm up with hot apple cider, hot cocoa and tea at the finish line in your new FINISHER mug!
All runners will receive this awesome finishers mug. Come get in some miles and then warm up with cider, cocoa or tea in your proudly earned collectable, finisher mug with your fellow runners.
All runners will receive a long sleeved, gender specific, cotton, hooded tee shirt with their race registration as well. Available sizes are listed during registration. If your size is not available, you may opt to trade with any shirts that are available on race day after the event has begun. You may also select the 'no shirt' option for a discounted fee during registration. Available shirts/sizes will be sold on race day at the registration table.
3W Races is proud to have Blessings in a Backpack as our charity partner for this event. With the cold weather outside this time of year, help us warm the hearts of youth in Douglas County by donating food items on race day. Preferred items are listed below:
Canned food: proteins, fruits
Bring 5 or more items to the in-kind donation gathering on race day and you'll be entered into the race day raffle where you can win prizes! Winners are drawn during the run and posted at the registration tent. No need to wait around in the cold for tickets to be pulled - you'll know right away if and what you've won!!
Learn a little bit more about Blessings in a Backpack:
Mission: Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
Vision: Every school-aged child in America has the nourishment needed to learn and grow. As a leader in the movement to end childhood hunger, Blessings in a Backpack strives to ensure children do not go hungry on the weekends by empowering individuals and communities to take action.
Why Do They Do It:: There are more than 11 million children in this country who are at risk of hunger. The consequences of hunger are much more than a growling stomach. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement. Children are fed during the school week by federal government programs, but we want to make sure they’re getting nutritional meals over the weekend, too.

One of the most common questions regarding a race in Colorado in February is "What about the weather?" We will produce the event under almost any conditions. If there is active lightning, tornado or white-out bilzzard conditions, then the event may be postponed (up to 1 hour) or canceled. Registrants will be notified - see the FAQ page for details. There is no alternate date scheduled for the event. Of course, event swag would be made available to registrants at an alternative date/location, if this is ever the case. For those who are concerned about such conditions, an event protection optional coverage is something to consider and is made available at the time of registration. Likewise, advance registration is NOT required and you may register online or in person up until the start time of the event. Additionally, there are options to transfer to another race date/location owned by 3W Races if you chose to transfer at least 72 hours before the start of the event. See the FAQ page for details and instructions on how to complete such a transfer.
